In this story the solitary, but harmless, making of a ship in a bottle turns into a real situation as bullies' victim David Jones finds himself press-ganged aboard the very ship he's modelled. Pirates and buccaneers are all the rage and young David is caught in the middle of exciting times, as he is marooned, rescued and trapped inside a maritime adventure. He is also caught between times and worlds with no way back until someone really cares, and that seems increasingly unlikely and impossible. There's a lot going on in this book, so much in fact that sequels must follow, but those who enjoy a complex mix will love this.
